I’m sitting on the plane right now. The babies have stopped screaming, and people are eating around me. It’s a low price airline so most people bring their own food. And then there’s me… I bought a sandwich – the first ‘hard meal’ since my dental surgery. Woohoo!
I think I’m on a Dreamliner. I’m not sure what that means exactly. It seems like every other plane I’ve been on, except for a small screen in the seat in front of me, but it wants money from me to be functional. A movie costs $10, or I can get a complete pass for $18. If I want to play Tetris or Patience, they’ll be $2 each. Crazy.
I was reading an in-flight magazine, an article about a couple of writers. One of them escaped from the world and went to live in Fiji, traveling around the islands and writing about their travels.
That’s the kind of thing that I’d love to do. I’ve joked with my wife about staying in Bali, but she tells me I’ll be staying by myself, so I guess that won’t be happening…
But wouldn’t that be nice? Falling in love with a tropical paradise and finding a reason to stay? There would have to be a good job, and so compelling that my wife is convinced it would be better to stay.
I know, it’s a dream, but dreams can come true. Especially when you write about them and put them out into the universe.
This trip to Bali is going to be fun. I’m looking forward to seeing it, and enjoying whatever small adventures I can.
Later…
So we’re less than two hours from arriving in Bali. Fanfan and I have decided that we really should explore the option of business class in future, for a better flying experience.
At least once, to try it out. Maybe we’ll get used to it.
I had a friend tell me the other day that business class isn’t that much more than expensive than economy – if you book far enough in advance. So we’ll see.
Later…
I’ve been spending some of this flying time thinking about how I can present my skills in an online business, taking advantage of being able to design a business that focuses on my strengths and the things that I enjoy doing. Work out what I don’t enjoy, and make sure those things aren’t in my business activity.
I’ve got some ideas. Mostly around using some of my Business Analyst skills to help businesses analyse their needs in relation to business development, strategy, program management, and web design. I’m sure there’s a way I can bring it all together…. Maybe I’ll have found a few ideas by the time I’m returning from Bali.
The plane’s about to land, I’ll write some more later!
